Compact Power for Slow Jigging and Norway
The HART Izan Jig is a powerful, low-profile reel for anglers who want to combine a compact reel with high line capacity and plenty of drag. Thanks to its maximum drag capacity of 25 kg, it’s ideal for slow jigging and heavy-duty saltwater fishing in Norway.
The aluminum body and gearbox ensure a rigid construction, so that power is efficiently transferred during the fight. Yet the reel weighs only 260 grams. That makes it comfortable for long days of fishing when you’re constantly active with shads, soft baits, or metal jigs.
Powerful carbon drag system
The multi-disc carbon drag system delivers up to 25 kg of drag force. The drag is adjusted via a micro-click star brake, allowing you to precisely adjust the resistance to your line, rod, and fishing.
The double backstop increases reliability when you apply a lot of pressure during the fight. This makes the HART Izan Jig ideal for fishing for powerful saltwater species such as cod, pollock, ling, and halibut.
Designed for braided line
The synchronous line guide distributes the line evenly across the spool. The high-quality ring in the line guide reduces friction when using braided line.
The machined aluminum spool offers sufficient capacity for most jigging techniques:
- 0.33 mm: 230 meters
- 0.35 mm: 210 meters
- 0.41 mm: 140 meters
Comfortable operation
The special Jig model features an extra-large aluminum handle with two oversized EVA knobs. This ensures a firm grip and sufficient leverage—even with wet hands or gloves—to retrieve heavy jigs and keep powerful fish under control.
The internal magnetic casting brake system has five settings. This allows you to adjust the spool when casting with the reel.

For which type of fishing is the HART Izan Jig suitable?
The HART Izan Jig was developed for slow jigging at sea, but can also be used for heavy predatory techniques for large pike and catfish. For Nomad Angler, the primary application lies in active boat fishing in Norway with jigs and large softbaits.
Is the HART Izan Jig suitable for Norway?
Yes. The combination of 25 kg drag force, an aluminum body, a large line capacity, and an oversized handle makes the reel suitable for active saltwater fishing in Norway.
Can the HART Izan Jig be used with braided line?
Yes. The line guide is equipped with a wear-resistant ring that reduces friction with braided line.
What is the difference between the HART Izan and the Izan Jig?
The Izan Jig has an oversized aluminum handle with large EVA knobs. The standard Izan uses a double carbon handle. The Jig version therefore offers more grip and leverage during vertical fishing.
