Rapala X-Rap Otus 17 is a hybrid predatory fishing lure with a hard ABS body and a soft PVC curl tail. That combination provides plenty of water displacement, a striking silhouette and an action that remains strong when fished slowly. This model is slow sinking and sinks in a controlled manner. As a result, it comes into its own in cold water and on tricky fishing days.
While reeling in, the large curl tail pulses wide behind the bait. At the same time, the body rolls along clearly. During a break, the tail acts as a kind of parachute.
